Remarkable, simply remarkable! The dining hall is wired and nearing completion. The well is dug and ready for a tower and tank. The electrical is also nearing completion, and we have had positive news regarding the land being finalized! God is good!
Pastor Patricio Taca and crew have completed the finishing touches on the cartaker's residence and we have a team coming in May 26th to finish the belt beam. Then a team is set for July to work on the rafters and zinc roofing. Hopefully that building will be in the dry by August. Please continue to pray for additional funding to complete windows and doors and then for funds to complete the dorm. We are very close to being able to open the camp to teams.
Please view Photo Gallery for work and updated pictures!
A constant threat in the Pine Ridge is fire! We have had three close calls with fire but praise God no damage. Please continue to pray for the property during this very critical phase until someone is able to live on and maintain the property!!
History:
The late Rodney M Gordon had a vision to train young people in Ministry and the ways of God. He, before he died, had secured approximately 50 acres of land near San Juan Village. Chester and Noelia Ritchie also having the vision to train christians approached Mrs. Gordon about transferring the land to the Baptist Association of Belize Southern Region for development of a Christian Training Center. Mrs. Gordon agreed and the rest is History. On October 21, 2006 the Southern Region approved the initial plans for the center and gave it the name: The Rodney M. Gordon Christian Development Center.
Following in January of 2007 a development committee was named but did not actually have a first meeting until March of 2008. The committee met again in April 2008 and approved a five year development plan. Link to be established later.
In July of 2007 the Southern Region approved the position and job description for a camp director. The camp director will chair the Development Committee and oversee the current Baptist Camp at San Roman. The camp director(s) are John and Darlene Glasgow. Please see their website for additional information: www.glasgowmissions.com
Please keep up the prayers for the center development!
