The San Juan Preschool is a cooperative program between the San Juan Bosco Primary School and the San Juan Baptist Church. The church provides the building and the Primary School the teachers. The program opened in September of 2007 and has approximately 40 kids enrolled. The program is divided into 3 year olds and 4 year olds.
The program began by discussions between Mrs. Noelia Ritchie and the Principal, Mr. Garcia. In Belize, there is a push for preschools. Many students struggle the first few years in school and it is believed the preschools will better prepare the students entering primary school. Thanks to the fundraising efforts of Blue Springs and Waldrop Baptist Churches the building was completed and opened prior to the fall 2007 school year.
God is truely amazing! Work continues on the building even now. Pastor Gregorio Cano and men from San Juan are completing the plaster and making preparations for teams in June and July to paint and install a playground. We are thankful to many other churches and schools for donations of supplies and educational materials for the preschool. Because of all the contributions and efforts of sponsors the Ministry of Education has labeled this preschool a model for others in the Region. Thank You All!!
