Boyles Ministry Newsletter

October 2007

Dear friends and family,

We have had information about the new property posted for a while on our website, but I thought I would share it in this newsletter as well.  Over the past year we have been in contact with the Department of Human Development regarding a children’s home or a women’s center.   We asked them to tell us if there was a greater need for a women’s center or a childrens’ home.  They have finally recommended the opening of a women's center.  They feel the women's center is more needed now and by meeting the needs of mothers in abusive situations we will also be meeting the needs of their children.  The women’s center will house and train women that have been removed from abusive situations and their children.  We believe that we were sent to Belize to minister to the children of this country.  We have gladly embraced this new plan.

The goal of the Southern Region for the next year includes building a new camp on the Gordon property.  2008 will be the first year of this project.  We hope to finish the first dorm, the dining hall, the camp director’s home and possibly the chapel.  Click Here for details!  These are ambitious plans, but teams are lining up fast and everyone seems eager to get the job done.  It’s always amazing to see God work.  Also, during June and July of 2008, we hope to renovate the existing camp.  The dorms will be used to house women and their children.  The other buildings on the property will be used for training in various skills such as computer skills, cooking, or sewing.  The plan also includes a first aid room and a clothes closet for those with special needs.  Please pray for the work as we have already begun to develop the Gordon property.

Gary Williams brought a team down from Georgia led by Sam and Kim Gamble at the end of October.  The team worked at Maya Mopan Baptist Church putting in new windows and painting.  They also had a puppet ministry, prayer walked, held VBS and a ladies class, and painted the primary school.  The team plans to return to Maya Mopan and will hopefully partner with the Maya Mopan Church on a long term basis.

We are constantly amazed when we see how God works through the teams He sends to Belize.  This particular team was made up of a great praise and worship team and a puppet team which the children loved.  They also had several members of the team who know sign language.  The amazing thing about this is one of the girls in the village is deaf and has learned sign language.  The team members were able to minister to her.  She was able to understand the church services for possibly the first time.  As a result of meeting her they learned of the Cayo Deaf Institute in Western Belize and wanted to visit.  We knew right where it was and had been by there but never stopped.  We were able to take them by the Institute to meet the directors and now they plan to return and possibly minister at the Institute.  God is good! Click Here for information about the Institute!

We told you in August about Jocelyn and Ana being very special to us.  They have started at the high school and received their first grades this week.  We are very excited to report they are both doing very well in school.

The San Juan Preschool has had a successful two months.  There are almost 40 children now enrolled.  Ann Marie has enjoyed getting to know some new friends.  The children are learning their ABC’s and counting to ten.  They have had a lot of fun with the books and toys donated.  We are grateful to be a part of something so special in this community.
